Welcome To Stiegel Elementary School!
Our Mission for Stiegel Elementary School...
To Prepare Responsible Citizens, Who Are Lifelong Learners
Greetings to you and Happy March!
Thank you for your patience and support during our delays, early dismissals and many indoor recesses this winter. It will be nice to enjoy warmer weather for a change. By the end of the month we will be celebrating the beginning of spring!
To open the month we have our week of Muffins with Moms and Donuts with Dads during the week of March 2nd – 5th. Please join your child and read them a book during these special mornings. We will have plenty of books available for you. Coinciding with our emphasis on reading, our annual Book Fair will be held throughout the entire week of March 2nd. Additionally, we will celebrate our Reading Week with Book Character Spirit Day on Thursday, March 5th followed by our Family Reading Night that evening as well from 6-8 p.m. I hope to see you at these events!
Later in the month, on March 28th, we will have our PTO sponsored All-Pro Dad’s Penn Cinema movie day. This event is open to dads and their Stiegel children.
Stiegel will be having various safety drills during the month of March. In addition to our monthly fire drill, we will have are required to have two bus evacuation drills, two intruder drills, and two severe weather drills each school year, so we will have all of these drills over the next several weeks. I have asked our school district’s School Resource Officer (SRO), Officer Webb, to assist me with the intruder drill as he did this past fall. I have appreciated his assistance on numerous occasions throughout this school year with assessing safety concerns in our building.
A special “Thank you!” to everyone who participated in our successful Talent Show which was held on Tuesday, February 10th. We had a great time, and I couldn’t be more proud of our students as they showed off their many talents! Congratulations to all participants – each performer was presented with a $2 coupon for our student store compliments of our PTO. The PTO has once again provided our school community with a special event for our students and families.
