A Happy April to all Stiegel Families!

This winter doesn't seem to quit, but I am confident that April will see higher temperatures and some beautiful spring days that are a welcome relief from the harsh winter we have endured.

A huge thank you to all families who supported their children throughout the PSSA Reading and Math tests which just finished up on March 31st!  Our 4th grade students stilll have 2 days of Science PSSA testing during the last week in April.

April will be a little bit quieter than our busy March, as far as Stiegel activities.  April's PTO monthly meeting will be held on Monday, April 7th at 6:30 pm in the Library - it's not too late to get involved, so everyone is welcome to see what goes on in the PTO.  Report Cards will be going home on Wednesday, April 16th.  Our spring break in April will be just Friday, April 18th, as both April 17th and April 21st are now student days.

May will start with an event which has been taking a whole century to develop!  On Thursday, May 1st, the entire Manheim Central community will celebrate the 100th birthday of the Stiegel School.  We are planning a whole day of celebration for our students during the school day including a visit from Henry William Stiegel during a morning assembly.  Later that night, the community is invited to our school from 6-8:30 pm for an evening of rekindling friendships and another visit from Henry William Stiegel.  Several former Stiegel staff members will return to their school for a nostalgic journey into our past.  While we will not have children's activities planned during this evening, families are certainly welcome to attend.  Throughout the evening, we will be scanning old photos and collecting written memories to put into a book about Stiegel which we hope to have in print by this fall.  In addition, there will be light refreshments, and the PTO will have special Stiegel t-shirts and coffee mugs for sale that evening.

Wishing you a warm April!
