Happy New Year to all Stiegel Families!

I hope you have a great year in 2015!  We have many activities planned this month and beyond.  As indicated on our school calendar, we will have our next set of assessments for GRADE and DIBELS in the upcoming weeks as we continue to monitor our students' progress and support every student to the fullest.  The CDT assessments scheduled for 3rd and 4th grade have been moved until the spring after the PSSAs.  January will also mark the end of the second marking is hard to believe we will be at the half-way point before the end of the month!  I appreciate your patience with our new report card format.  We have worked hard to make more changes, so the report cards are easier to read and understand while including details about each student's progress.  Our PTO will have Bingo Night on January 15th beginning at 6:30 pm, and they will be coordinating our annual Stiegel Talent Show which will occur at the Middle School on February 10th.  I look forward to this fun and entertaining event!

A friendly reminder about dropping off and picking up your students.  Parking is always problematic at Stiegel, and I am concerned about safety.  Parking along Hazel Street in front of the school is forbidden due to our bus traffic, and crossing Hazel Street is a safety issue, especially when we have snow and icy conditions.  To ease this problem, we have drop-off and pick-up procedures to ensure safety and efficiency for everyone.  Please take advantage of our staff who help out in the morning for drop off on Logan Ave. which runs right behind our school.  In the afternoon the cars line up on Stauffer Lane which runs along our back playground - if you are the 1st in line, please stop at the 2nd garage so our neighbors can leave their garage to get to work.  Both pick-up and drop-off are done with safety in mind.

If you have any questions, please call our office at 665-8800.

Enjoy the New Year!
