Joint Purchasing Catalog Bids / Discounts
The MCSD participates in the IU-13 Joint Purchasing program. Through this program, we have a number of commodity catalogs available to us for ordering supplies and materials at considerable discounts.
The IU-13 Joint Purchasing Board has awarded the bids for the catalog discounts for each of the commodity areas: Education, Art, Science, Office Supplies, Tech Ed, Special Ed, Library, Custodial, and Trainer/Medical.
Through these awards, School Districts receive a pre-determined discount on their orders when placed following the instruction of each vendor. Using these catalogs to place orders on a variety of quantity allows us to meet the requirements for obtaining three quotes for each purchase. Please note that we still need to bid purchases over $10,000. Also, it is prudent to get three quotes on items that will cost over $3,000 to ensure that we are getting the best price.
You may use these for orders to be placed during the school year. You need to be sure that you are quoting the catalog discount for IU-13 Joint Purchasing for the appropriate year (whether you are initiating the order via phone, fax or electronically) and note it on the purchase order.
*NEW* The IU Joint Purchasing Board recently negotiated the extension of the discounts offered with all the vendors. All pricing discounts/conditions in the listing are extended through June 30, 2011. These summaries are posted below.
