Manheim Central School District Administration, staff and school board is dedicated to providing the best opportunities to the students for which the district serves. This can be done through a variety of opportunities being offered to the school being academic or extracurricular. Even though these programs may be offered to the school, they must be done in a fiscally responsible manner that will allow the tax payer and parents of the students to see the benefit of those programs for the students within the community. It is indeed a unique opportunity to work in the field of education where every child is important and every child needs and deserves to be afforded an opportunity. It is a challenge to make sure that the district does this in a financially responsible manner and at the same time meeting the needs of a variety of students within the district.
As someone who grew up the youngest child in a family of five in a small town, we learned very quickly to value education and the opportunity it provided us. Teachers allowed me to see the skills within myself that a teacher may have seen that I did not because of my inexperience.
The community input into the public education is critical to its overall success, whether that be through participation at board meetings or through various committees that are offered in the district. Individuals are encouraged to visit the website and correspond with the district in a manner that shares their concerns. Two-way communication is critical for the continued improvement of education as well as the understanding of the issues confronting the community in the field of education.
